Russia launched another large-scale overnight attack on Ukraine on September 19, using missiles and dozens of drones against targets in several parts of the country. According to Ukraine\u2019s Air Force, Russian forces deployed two Zircon missiles and 174 drones during the night. Air defense units reported neutralizing 141 aerial targets, while strikes were recorded at 15 locations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The overnight attack followed a day of strikes that caused casualties in several regions. Ukrainian authorities reported at least 11 people killed and more than 60 injured across the country. In Kharkiv region, five people were killed and 15 wounded. In Kherson region, two people died and five were injured, while Donetsk region reported one death and 13 injuries. Further casualties were recorded in Sumy region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Civilian areas and infrastructure were among the locations affected. In Kherson region, authorities reported damage to apartment blocks, private houses, shops, administrative facilities and other infrastructure. In Kharkiv region, a Russian drone attack in Balakliia killed four people, according to regional authorities. In Sumy region, a guided bomb struck a residential building, causing further civilian casualties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Ukrainian military, meanwhile, reported strikes against Russian military facilities. According to Ukraine\u2019s General Staff, its forces hit drone command posts, a training ground, logistics and ammunition depots in occupied Ukrainian territories. Ukrainian forces also reported damage to a Russian radar station in the Smolensk region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
