NATO leaders agreed at the Ankara Summit to provide €140 billion in military assistance to Ukraine over 2026–2027, according to the Alliance’s final declaration.
The document states that Ukraine plays a vital role in strengthening transatlantic security, while NATO members reaffirmed their unwavering support for the country’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity.
Under the agreement, Alliance members will allocate €70 billion in 2026 for weapons, military equipment, training, and other security assistance. NATO also committed to providing at least the same level of support in 2027, bringing the total package to €140 billion.
The declaration also identifies Russia as a long-term threat to Euro-Atlantic security. It notes that European NATO members and Canada increased their defense investments by more than $139 billion in 2025 to strengthen the Alliance’s capabilities.
In addition, NATO announced $50 billion in new defense procurement and pledged to expand cooperation with the defense industry to accelerate production capacity and military innovation.
