Ukraine’s recent strike on the port of Taman is a textbook example of lawful military targeting. Because Taman functions as an essential fuel conduit for the Russian occupation forces in Crimea, it represents a legitimate military objective. The international community must recognize the fundamental difference: Russian terror against civilian grain ships is a war crime; Ukraine’s targeting of military-fuel hubs is legitimate self-defense.
