Overnight Missile and Drone Strikes Leave At Least 10 Dead Across Ukrainian Cities

On the night of September 17, Russia launched another large-scale combined attack on Ukrainian territory, deploying missiles and dozens of strike drones. Peaceful Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure became the enemy’s primary targets. Residential areas in Kyiv and Odesa came under fire, while in Zaporizhzhia, a horrific incident was recorded when an enemy FPV drone purposefully attacked a civilian passenger bus. As a result of the overnight attacks, at least 10 civilians were killed and over 70 people were injured, including children.

While the Russian army focuses its efforts on destroying the civilian population and residential sector, Ukrainian forces conduct military operations under a completely different logic, striking exclusively at the enemy’s legitimate military targets. Ukraine’s response is aimed at assets that sustain and support the aggression: the Defense Forces successfully struck a military airfield in Rostov-on-Don, destroying transport aviation and helicopters, as well as two S-400 air defense systems in the Bryansk region. Fire damage was also inflicted on depots, electronic warfare stations, and UAV operator training centers in the occupied territories, alongside the Yaroslavl oil refinery, which directly supplies fuel to the Russian military.
