On the night of September 25, Russia launched a large-scale aerial attack on Ukraine. According to Ukraine’s Air Force, 295 attack drones were launched, with 267 reportedly shot down or suppressed.
In Kyiv, a strike on a residential building killed a 14-year-old boy and injured at least seven people. In Odesa, a civilian woman was killed and others were injured. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were damaged.
Russia says its strikes are primarily aimed at Ukrainian military and defense-industrial facilities. However, the specific targets and extent of damage cannot always be independently verified.
Ukraine carried out a large-scale series of strikes across Russian territory during the same night. Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed that 592 Ukrainian drones had been intercepted over several Russian regions. This figure has not been independently verified.
Reported targets in Russia included the Novoshakhtinsk and Perm oil refineries, a defense-industry plant in Ulyanovsk, and military radar facilities. Russian authorities also reported civilian casualties in several regions.

In Russia, the main reports concerned damage to oil-refining, defense and military infrastructure, although civilian casualties were also reported.
