During the night of October 1, Russia launched another large-scale attack on Ukraine. According to Ukraine’s Air Force, 107 attack drones were launched, including 63 jet-powered drones. Ukrainian air defenses destroyed or suppressed 87 of them, but strikes were recorded in several regions.
In Kyiv, a Russian drone struck a school building in the Solomianskyi district. Students and staff were sheltering underground, so there were no casualties among them. The building was damaged and a fire broke out.
In Odesa, the attack damaged a business center and infrastructure. One person was injured. In Sumy, a Russian strike on a residential area damaged around six houses, with two people hospitalized. Fatalities and injuries were also reported in the Dnipropetrovsk and Mykolaiv regions.
At the same time, strikes against Russian military facilities were reported. The targets included locations used to store and launch attack drones, a drone-control center, a missile and artillery weapons depot, areas where military equipment was concentrated, and facilities supplying Russian forces. Strikes were also reported against an oil facility and other targets in Russian regions.
Overall, the strikes recorded today show a different pattern in the reported targets: Russian attacks in Ukraine damaged residential and civilian facilities, including a school and infrastructure, while the targets reported on Russian territory were facilities connected to military forces, weapons, drones and military supply.
