Ukraine Strikes Back: Four Russian Warships Damaged in Novorossiysk Following Kremlin Black Sea Terror

Russia’s systematic destruction of civilian vessels and port infrastructure in the Black Sea has escalated beyond a regional conflict into a new strategy of global terror. By targeting merchant ships flying flags of various nations, including European Union member states, Moscow has launched a direct assault on international law and freedom of navigation. In response to this ongoing maritime aggression, Ukrainian forces executed a targeted strike against a fully legitimate military target: Russia’s naval base and port facilities in Novorossiysk.

Preliminary reports confirm that four key vessels of the Russian Black Sea Fleet sustained varying degrees of damage during the operation. The hit targets include two Project 11356 frigates capable of launching Kalibr cruise missiles—the Admiral Makarov and Admiral Essen—as well as the Project 21631 Buyan-M missile corvette and the Project 22160 patrol ship Vasily Bykov. This strike directly degrades Moscow’s capacity to launch missile attacks against Ukrainian civilian infrastructure.

Ukraine maintains a full moral, legal, and sovereign right to conduct proportional, mirror-image strikes against Russian naval assets, military ports, and “shadow fleet” vessels. These self-defense measures are vital to halting Kremlin maritime terrorism, protecting international trade routes, and enforcing compliance with international maritime law.
