Score 5:1 — Ukraine Delivers Symmetrical Answer to Russian Grain Terror

Bloomberg reports that at least five grain-carrying cargo vessels operating near the major Russian Black Sea ports of Novorossiysk and Tuapse have come under attack. This wave of precision strikes marks the first confirmed series of direct retaliatory actions taken against grain shipping serving Russian export hubs following Moscow’s targeted destruction of a civilian vessel departing a Ukrainian port.

According to informed sources, four ships were hit early Tuesday morning and another on Monday. The strikes targeted both Russian-owned assets and international bulk carriers, including the Russian-flagged Victoria V, the Marshall Islands-flagged Fehu, the Maltese-flagged Elina B, the San Marino-flagged Necibe in Tuapse, and the Liberian-flagged Anna S. The drone strike on the Anna S triggered a shipboard fire, completely disabling its ability to continue its voyage toward Novorossiysk.

This escalation strikes directly at Russia’s vulnerable maritime export network. Drone attacks have already completely paralyzed shipments from Russian Azov Sea ports, which account for nearly a quarter of the country’s agricultural exports. With key deep-water terminals in Novorossiysk also forced to suspend operations, Ukraine has established a powerful, symmetrical response to Russia’s systematic grain terror.
