Full Blackout Hits Crimea as Operation Isolation Accelerates

A series of coordinated night strikes has plunged the entire Crimean peninsula into a complete power outage. Ukrainian forces targeted key energy infrastructure both on the mainland and within the occupied territory, severely disrupting the military power grid used to sustain Russian operations across the region.

The operation hit the Tamanneftegaz oil terminal and the crucial 500 kV Taman electrical substation in Krasnodar Krai, which serves as the main mainland hub for the Crimean energy bridge. Simultaneous drone strikes neutralized internal grid nodes across the peninsula, including the Kafa substation near Feodosia and the 110 kV Malorechenskaya substation near Alushta, with additional explosions reported across Yevpatoria, Saky, and Bakhchysarai.

The sudden loss of basic power and infrastructure has triggered panic among local residents. On the morning of August 20, massive traffic congestion was reported at the Kerch Strait Bridge as civilians and occupational personnel began exiting the peninsula en masse toward mainland Russia.
