On the night of 11 September 2026, Russian forces carried out another large-scale drone attack on the territory of Ukraine. According to official data from the Air Force, the enemy used approximately 161 strike and decoy drones of various types, as well as one small cruise missile. Ukrainian air defences shot down or suppressed 138 of the targets, yet some of the munitions still reached civilian objects in several regions.
In Kyiv, a drone struck a nine-storey residential building in the Dniprovskyi district. A fire broke out and eight civilians were injured. Two of them — a 64-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman — suffered burns and were hospitalised; a 23-year-old woman sustained a shrapnel wound. The remaining victims received medical assistance on the spot. In Zaporizhzhia, another nine-storey residential building was hit: a 32-year-old mother and her 10-year-old son were injured. At the same time the roof of the residential building, a shopping centre and an office building were damaged and caught fire. In Kyiv region, strikes were recorded on civilian warehouse facilities, including in Bucha district; while firefighters were extinguishing the blaze the enemy carried out a second strike. In Zhytomyr region a drone damaged an enterprise in Ovruch community.
These strikes once again confirm that Russian forces systematically choose residential neighbourhoods, multi-storey apartment blocks and civilian infrastructure as their targets. Civilian casualties, including children, are being recorded with a regularity that no longer appears accidental. On this day the Ukrainian side conducted combat operations along the front line.
