In the regions of central Russia and the south of the country, a critical tension has formed in the fuel market over the past few days. Against the backdrop of a series of recent nighttime strikes on key oil refineries, mainstream gas station networks have faced an acute shortage of AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline. Kilometer-long queues of cars have lined up near the stations, stretching in places for miles along the highways.
Operators of major networks are forced to introduce strict limits on the sale of fuel per person or completely suspend retail sales, reserving the remaining supplies exclusively for emergency services and public transport. Many gas stations now display signs reading “No Fuel” and “Sales Temporarily Suspended.” Drivers are forced to wait for hours for tanker deliveries, but new shipments are arriving with delays due to logistical collapses and damage to storage infrastructure.
Experts and representatives of the fuel business note that the shutdown of a significant portion of oil refining capacities as a result of recent attacks has created a chain reaction. Oil depots are emptying faster than enterprises can redirect raw material flows to bypass damaged hubs. This strikes regional logistics, paralyzes the operation of commercial transport, and creates serious social pressure within the country, as the fuel deficit inevitably drives up prices for transportation and basic goods.
