Russian occupation authorities have declared a regional state of emergency across temporarily occupied Crimea and Sevastopol, acknowledging the worsening situation following recent disruptions. The measure came into effect at 1:00 p.m., according to the Kremlin-installed head of Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov.
Aksyonov said the emergency regime was introduced in coordination with Sevastopol’s occupation administration to simplify financial, legal, and compensation procedures related to the ongoing crisis. He urged residents to remain calm and rely only on official sources of information.
The Kremlin-appointed governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhayev, admitted that the peninsula’s energy system remains under severe strain. Repair work is ongoing, and authorities hope to restore electricity supplies within the next 24 hours, but described the situation as serious enough to require emergency measures.
The announcement follows a series of Ukrainian strikes targeting military and energy infrastructure in occupied Crimea. The attacks have led to widespread power outages, fuel sales restrictions, and the temporary closure of children’s summer camps. Russian-installed authorities have limited fuel distribution to state institutions, while local residents continue to report growing difficulties. Meanwhile, Commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces Robert Brovdi stated that Ukrainian drones had struck Sevastopol’s main electrical substation seven times.
