Israel has suspended all scheduled flights to Moscow after Ukraine warned that Russia’s airspace poses increasing risks to international civil aviation.
Ukraine’s representative to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Andrii Plakhotniuk, said that the use of military aircraft, air defense systems, and missile weapons by Russia has significantly increased the danger for civilian flights operating near or over Russian territory.
In response to the heightened security concerns, Israel decided to halt all air services to Moscow. Ukraine is also urging the international community to conduct a comprehensive aviation risk assessment and strengthen safety measures to better protect international civilian air traffic.
