No Power, No Fuel, But Growing Panic: Russian Reserve Officers Simulate the Liberation of Crimea

The illusion of a “safe fortress” is collapsing. Russian military expert and reserve colonel Viktor Murakhovsky revealed that he participated in a specialized command-post simulation dubbed “Crimean Wake-Up” (Крымская побудка). The exercises explicitly modeled a modern Ukrainian operation to retake the occupied peninsula.

  • 21st Century Warfare: Murakhovsky published a map using the Soviet-era SK-42 coordinate system (standard for Russian security mapping). The scheme showcases multiple vectors of an unconventional Ukrainian advance from Odesa across the Black Sea. This isn’t a WWII-style amphibious landing—the simulation modeled a high-tech onslaught utilizing mass drone swarms, fast attack boats, and long-range precision strikes.
  • The Reality on the Ground: While retired and active officers panic over digital maps trying to bolster defenses around Sevastopol and the Kerch Strait, reality has already hit the peninsula. Crimea is currently choking under massive blackouts and severe fuel rationing.

With communications down and infrastructure failing, civilian panic has triggered massive, multi-kilometer traffic jams at the exits. The “wake-up” call is no longer just a simulation.
