Switzerland has expanded its sanctions against Russia by adding 23 individuals and entities to its blacklist, the Swiss government announced.
The new measures target 16 individuals and seven organizations accused of participating in the forced assimilation of Ukrainian children from Russian-occupied territories. Those sanctioned include officials responsible for youth affairs in occupied regions, as well as educators and leaders of youth organizations involved in pro-Russian ideological programs.
According to the Swiss authorities, the listed individuals are linked to the deportation, forced relocation, and systematic indoctrination of Ukrainian minors removed from occupied areas.
The move follows similar actions by Western allies. Earlier this month, the European Union extended its Crimea-related sanctions for another year, while Canada imposed additional restrictions targeting Russia’s shadow fleet, energy sector, and disinformation networks.
