By analyzing Telegram archives, cryptocurrency wallets, and court documents, the FT traced the operations to a Russia-based handler operating under the alias “El Money.” The coordinator maintains direct ties to NoName057(16), a prominent pro-Kremlin hacktivist group officially recognized by U.S. authorities as a state-sponsored proxy project.
The investigation further established that the same Russian network was actively recruiting British citizens online to deface mosques across London with anti-Islamic graffiti.
