Military First: Putin Starves Russia’s Domestic Market to Feed the Frontlines

The nationwide fuel crisis crippling Russia has exposed the Kremlin’s true priorities. As fierce frontline clashes remain at peak intensity this week, Moscow is diverting all remaining fuel reserves exclusively to the military to sustain its offensive operations.

For the civilian population, the timing couldn’t be worse:

The Summer Squeeze: Peak travel season and critical agricultural harvesting are driving domestic fuel demand through the roof.

The Inevitable Fallout: With pumps drying up for ordinary citizens, Russia is facing an imminent surge in the cost of logistics, consumer goods, and basic food supplies.

For Ukraine, the strategy is clear. Precision drone strikes are consistently targeting Russian refineries and supply chains to systematically cut the Russian war machine off from its energy source. Meanwhile, the Kremlin proves once again that it is willing to let its own citizens run on empty to keep the war going.
