During the night of July 31, drones attacked the Russian city of Volgograd, triggering a large fire after a series of explosions. According to preliminary reports, the blaze engulfed a Wildberries warehouse and a local oil refinery. Local residents have been widely sharing photos and videos of the incident on social media.
Images circulating online show a massive column of black smoke rising above the city and covering the sky.
Initially, Russian monitoring channels were unable to determine which facility had been hit. Some reports suggested a Wildberries warehouse, while others pointed to the oil refinery. Later, analysts from the OSINT channel Exile+ concluded that both sites were on fire.
Russian monitoring channels also reported that drones equipped with munition-drop systems were operating over Volgograd.
The previous night, drones struck a Wildberries logistics complex in Sarapul, in Russia’s Udmurt Republic, causing a fire. The company’s warehouse in Penza was also attacked, and later reports confirmed that a Wildberries sorting center in the village of Zamulyanka, Perm Krai, had caught fire, becoming the third company facility targeted that day.
